  • Changes to illustration competition rules

    Hey Everybody,

It has probably been quite confusing recently with all the illustration competition rules.  I wanted to explain the reasoning why everything happened the way it did and how we are addressing it with our latest and hopefully final rules adjustment.

We have always believed that to be a truly successful Manga / Comic artist, you need to be able to not only generate great art, but also interact and build a strong fan base.  This is what we tried to cover in our previous versions of the illustration competition.  In some ways this worked and we had a lot of great interactions by users.  However, we also saw a lot of activity that wasn't really the intent of the competition and tried in different ways to tighten the rules to avoid artists misunderstanding that we were just looking for people with a lot of friends.

In the end, after long discussions with the staff and many of you, we have decided to simplify the illustration competition.  Going forward, we will announce the theme and then artists will have until the 25th of every month to email us the URL to their illustration competition submission.  After that, our premium artist panel will review all entries and select the winning entry.

We hope this new and final version best represents what we as MangaMagazine.net stand for and this encourages all artists to consider participating.

We look forward to seeing your submissions!

    Victor
